Get ready to enjoy your night in a Ryokan or traditionally Japanese hotel! 

A Ryokan usually has tatami mats and is a place that allows their guests to wear yukata. It is hard to spot one in Tokyo as ryokans are usually located in scenic areas. Areas with hot springs also attract  people to their establishment.

But customers, hold on to your piggy banks, as a night’s stay in a ryokan is not very cheap. Thankfully, there are still reasonably priced rooms at about $40 per night.
