This photo of the Hirosaki Castle was taken on the year 1930s as featured on a travel poster.
Hirosaki Castle is a Hirayama-style Japanese castle built on the year 1611 by the Tsugaru Clan. The castle was originally a five-story castle tower, however, it was burned down after being struck by lightning in 1627. It was rebuilt in 1810 and became the present three-story castle tower with fortified moats, castle gates, and some corner turrets.
The castle is located in Hirosaki Park which is considered as one of the best cherry blossom spots in Japan. During the spring season, the park turned into a pink paradise with over 2,500 cherry trees, cherry blossom tunnels, and petal filled moats.
