This video showcases a traditional Japanese tea ceremony in a presentation held at the Hotel Okura in Tokyo. In this clip, you will see the steps on preparing and serving Japanese green tea (otherwise known as Matcha), together with the traditional sweets that serves as a balance to the tea’s usual taste of bitterness. The whole process of making Japanese tea is done with proper choreography, aesthetics, and sacredness for it (the discipline) also defines pouring all one’s attention into the predefined movements.
This ritual is called Chanoyu, Sado, or Ocha.
