Tosenkyo is a traditional indoor Japanese fan-tossing game where the players knock the target with the use of the open folding fan and the players sit within a distance of one meter. It originated during the 18th century and was invented by a gambler after he failed to toss the butterfly for several times.
The scoring of this game will be based on how the fan and the "chou" lands. This can range from 1-50 points. The Gyouji would be the one to determine the score and the name of the situation. There are 24 different ways to score and each scoring pattern is connected to a poem.
