Bonsai is a Japanese art wherein you will grow a tree in a small container.

The word bonsai is derived from two Japanese words: bon, meaning tray; and  sai, meaning tree. 

This form of art originally started in Japan, but there are other similar traditions being practiced in some countries like in Penjing in China and Hon-non-bo in Vietnam.

Although they look small, bonsai trees comes from different styles and species. The styles includes, informal upright, formal upright, cascade, literati, semi-cascade, and raft bonsai. They also range in size, from miniature, small, medium, and large.
