Though they are undeniably big, sumo wrestling does not mean that the little ones can not participate in the games. 

Sumo is not just for adults. To celebrate the autumn harvest every year in Wadayama, located in Hyogo Prefecture, there is this festival wherein young boys do sumo wrestling. Even if these boys lack in skills and also the weight, they are competing with their full power and energy. 

The children's ages range from 5 to 12 years old. Just like the traditional sumo wrestlers, these young fighters wear the fundoshi, the traditional sumo loincloth. The referee is also dressed in gyoji, the stylish robes of the Heian Period.
