Held in Tottori Prefecture, the Shan-Shan Matsuri Festival is held every August in Japan. The main attraction of this summer festival is the Inaba no Kasa odori. In this festival dance, traditional umbrellas are used, which are called the Shan-shan gasa umbrella, which is a proud product of the Tottori Prefecture. The dance participants are growing each year, featuring around 4000 people dancing harmoniously while holding the uniformly colored umbrellas or shan-shan. In 2014, the festival was awarded the Guinness World Record for the biggest number of umbrella dance participants.
One of the music that is popular in the festival is entitled Shan Shan Shangurira, which is actually a pop song.
