The New York Public Library Digital Collections has recently acquired a new set of nostalgic photographs from the Japanese Meiji Era. The photographs, colored and digitally restored, showcase the richness of the the culture and tradition during that time.
The Photographs of Japan collection is part of the Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Division of Art, Prints and Photographs division of the library. The photographs in this collection are hand-colored to renew the nostalgic effect.
