Paantu Punaha festival is fun for everyone but scary for children. It's held in Miyakojima City, Okinawa yearly as men, clad in leaves, vine and some sort of root, are covered in black mud. Carrying sticks and masks, they scare the hell out of children until the kids cry. The Mud men also approach and smear adults, new buildings and cars to bless and bring good luck.
