Oda Nobunaga is one of the most influential feudal lords of Japan. He was one of those who attempted to unify Japan before the Tokugawa period. Through the years, he had been known to be one of the most brutal figures in history, eliminating all those who came in his way. He was also known as a successful businessman and economic reformer. But amidst all the successes, he died when an ally, Akechi Mitsuhide, turned into a traitor and rebelled against him.
This photo is a traditional portrait of the feudal lord made by Giovanni Nicolao, an Italian Jesuit priest.
