Nankin Tamasudare is a traditional Japanese street performance wherein the performers create different shapes from bamboo screens. They do it while chanting a poem. The bamboo screen can be twisted, folded, or extended while you create different shapes. You can still bring it back to its original shape.
There are many chants used for performing Nankin Tamasudare, but there is one that is always heard.
Nanakin Tamasudari began being a popular form of entertainment during the Edo Period. Today, it is still performed during the Japanese Cultural Festival.
