Nakizumo is a four-decade long tradition that takes place every April 29 (a national holiday) at Senso-ji Temple in the Asakusa ward of Tokyo, Japan. It is called as a Baby-crying Sumo Festival as parents bring their babies at the temple to blessings for health and long life. After the blessing, parents hand over their babies to burly sumo wrestlers who will try to make them cry. It will be contested with the gyoji (referee). First baby who cries wins. But if no baby will be crying after some time, judges will come in wearing devil masks as they try to make the baby cry.
