The Nagaoka is an event to be held on August 3. The event is rated as among the top fireworks festival in Nagaoka City. Attractions include folk dance processions and portable shrine float parade.

On top of that, there's a Niigata cuisine to be enjoyed such as Hegisoba (a dish with seaweed), Kanzuri (a dish with chilli peppers exposed to snow). The city is accessible from Tokyo via Bullet train.
