Japan will not let itself be left behind in terms of folklores. The Land of the Rising Sun has a rich treasure trove of mythologies and legends that deeply describes its culture.
One of the most famous of them all is Momotaro. He is the hero of the popular Japanese folklore of the same title, which came from the Okayama Prefecture. The word consists of two Japanese words. The first word momo, means "peach." The second word, taro, is actually a popular men's name in Japan. When put together, the name Momotaro is translated to "Clam Peach Boy." The name actually already describes what Momotaro's tale is all about.
He is said to have come to Earth on a giant clam peach, floating on a river. A childless woman found him and brought him home. And that was wer the story began.
