Here is a Japanese artist who doesn't only want to create works of art. She also makes sure that she is "one" with them.
Mori digitally inserts herself four times into a photograph of the Ocean Dome – the largest indoor theme park in the world, including an artificial beach, with waves and all. Posing among happy Japanese bathers, Mori is costumed as a coy mermaid. Hybrid creature, hybrid world; made for each other.
Mariko Mori is an acclaimed Japanese photographer, video and installation artist of international renown, best known for her works that juxtapose Eastern mythology with Western culture.
