Every nation has its own traditional costume. And kimono is the garment associated with the Land of the Rising Sun.
The word kimono actually came from two Japanese words. The word ki means "to wear" and the word mono means "thing." Putting them together, they are the traditional things to wear in Japan. Characterized by their T-shaped and straight robes for men and women, the kimonos are always worn with the left panel over the right side, except when dressing the dead. The robe is secured by the sash called obi.
