Dance of the Butterfly is a performance involving the illusion of a flying butterfly. The so-called butterfly is made of paper, and is made to dance by using the air from the fan. Also called as the "Fluttering of Butterflies," it was introduced to the art scene by Itchosai Yanagawa. However, it is said that the first ever Dance of the Butterfly was actually performed in the West, by a certain Dr. Lynn, in 1864.
