Ikebana is the known Japanese term depicting their art of flower arrangement. The word ikebana literally means “arranging flowers” and another possible translation means “giving life to flowers.”

The tradition is a disciplined art form in which nature and humanity are brought together. It originated from Heian period (or 7th century) in which flowers are specially arranged in a vase. These floral pants were made and placed at altars for appreciation.

Patterns and styles evolved over certain and several periods and centuries. Hundreds of schools have also developed, and Ikebana has become a custom among the entirety of the Japanese civilization.
