Enjoy an art experience while doing the most mundane thing-- taking a bath.

For Japanese people, this isn’t a new phenomenon. Sento or public bathhouses have murals. The idea is to entertain customers while they take baths. A common theme is Mt. Fuji. 

When visiting a sento, certain etiquette must be followed. These are usually printed on posters in the sento. Some sento also refuse entry for people with large tattoos.

Public bathhouses are losing their popularity in Japan as citizens already have bathtubs at home. This led to the bathhouses modernizing themselves and including new facilities such as a sauna.
