Marquetry is the art of creatively assembling pieces of wood onto a structure to create beautiful patterns and designs.
But the Hakone process is as intricate as their designs. Each of the colored wooden pieces is chosen to fit a specific design. Wood pieces are glued together and then shaved into thin paper-like sheets that are perfect for your next gift box.
