Summer in Japan means festivals or natsu matsuri. There are a lot of traditional activities and stalls lined up along the street during a summer festival. One of the most famous is the kingyo-sukui or more popularly-known as goldfish scooping. The name came from two Japanese words. The first word, kingyo, means "goldfish." The second word, sukui means "to scoop."
The rule of the game is just simple. Scoop a goldfish using a poi. The poi is a ring with a handle, wherein a this sheet of paper is wrapped. Because the poi is made of paper, it can easily tear when put into the water. This makes the game exciting.
