Gion Matsuri: Yasaka Shrine Events (Omukae chochin/Hanagasa junko/Kankousai)

Gion Festival happens in July every year wherein various rituals and forms of entertainment has been taking over Kyoto, Japan. There are dances, plays, and concerts all throughout the streets of the city for the month. Watch as Discover Kyoto stopped by the Omukae Chōchin ritual, the Hanagasa Junkō parade, the Kankōsai portable shrine journey, and the Eki Jinja purification ritual to witness some of the happenings during this festival month at Yaska Shrine.
