Geisha are entertainers in Japan. They are seen mostly in high-end dinners, private parties and other special event. But people often mistake them for courtesans.

Being a geisha is really hard. They are highly skilled entertainers. Ladies here usually spend 5 years of training to become a geiko. Geikos are the fully-pledged geishas. In Japan, you can see a lot of geishas walking in the street, especially in Kyoto, the geisha capital in Japan.

You can see other geishas in other parts of Japan, but their training are not as hard than the training in Kyoto.
