Enburi spring festival takes place in Hachinoche city, Northern Japan, as their way of welcoming spring and at the same time, to pray for a good harvest. Its first day saw 32 groups gathering together for a standoff wherein they performed a traditional dance number. They wore horsehead hats and beat the ground with sticks which says the Earth has to wake up from the winter sleep.
Enburi festival is one of the longest-standing traditional festivals in Japan wherein they pray to the deity of good fortune. It is designated by the Japanese government as an important, intangible cultural property.
