The Japanese tea ceremony has been one of the essential parts of the culture of the Land of the Rising Sun.
This photo here shows a chasen or a the traditional matcha or green tea whisk. The chasen is made of bamboo, carved into thin fibers to become the best tea whisk in Japan. The finer the strands, the better suited they are in mixing the matcha powder onto the hot water. The proper use of the chasen involves intricate practice. The mixing of the tea using the chasen only involves the wrists and not the whole arms. But this kind of work requires stamina for the match powder can be quite stubborn when meeting with the hot water.
