Bonenkai office party refers to the drinking party among co-office workers, friends and colleagues. Bonenkai means literally - forget the year gathering). The party is usually done by consuming alcohol. The Japanese held the party during December (Friday or Saturday night) to forget the past troubles and woes during most of the year. Participants may play games such as bingo where anyone may win a prize.
