In Kyoto, a boiling that involves boiling water takes place. It is called Yutate Kagura, and it take place Jōnangū Shrine. This ritual, known in English as "Boiling Water Rituals," at a common occurrence at Shinto shrines during winter.
The ritual begins with prayers at the main sanctuary and a blessing for the onlookers. Afterwards, four of shrine priestesses will perform a series of sacred kagura dances. And then, the solemn rite takes place.
