Arita Porcelain Lab, or used to be known as Yazaemon Kiln, was established 200 years ago. It is considered the oldest and largest kiln in the town of Arita, in the district of Nishimatsuura, Saga Prefecture, Japan.
The 7th generation of the Yazaemon family is Satoru Matsumoto. According to him, the stone which is capable of being transformed into porcelain was discovered in 1616. That marked the appearance of the first Arita porcelain craft. It has since been developed to perfection up to modern times. But the Arita porcelain is not just about moulding, it is also about painting. Here's a video from Tilmann Meyer-Faje
