Akabeko is a traditional Japanese toy from Fukushima, Japan. It resembles a legendary cow from the Aizu region. Legend says it's based on the real cow that doesn't' leave the temple because of devotion. It's believed that Akabeko prevents smallpox and other diseases. An Akabeko is either made from wood or paper mache. You can buy this toy from Japanese-themed toy stores.
