The western culture is notably different from the Japanese culture. For someone living in Japan, there would be some changes, as society in Japan is almost on the opposite spectrum of the behavior in the West. 

The first thing to change is the attitude on all things weird. Things that are considered as strange or odd in the west may not be as bizarre in Japan. The Japanese culture tends to respect each other’s privacy as long as it is deemed culturally and ethically appropriate.
