Usually, ground-based bicycle parks have taken up much space. That said, construction company Giken had come up with a solution which stores hundreds of bicycles underground, making them safe from weather issues and pranksters.
Just when you thought that cars can be parked underground, the similar facility is also applicable for bicycles, too! The EcoCycle at Kounanhoshi Park near Shinigawa Station is serving as a living testament for that; providing parking for bicycle users who either on their way to work nearby or just want to hang out at the park.
