"Leading Innovation."
TOSHIBA, also known as the Kabushiki-gaisha Tōshiba, is a multinational corporation from the Land of the Rising Sun. To date, it is said now to be the world's seventh largest manufacturer of semiconductor.
In 1939, it was established with the name, Tokyo Shibaura Denki K. K. After 39 years, the company finally changed its name to Toshiba Corporation. Now, the 142-years-old company operates worldwide but its headquarter remains in Tokyo, Japan.
As TOSHIBA has widened its range of products and services, the company decided to split the work into 4 group: the Digital Products Group, the Electronic Devices Group, the Home Appliances Group and the Social Infrastructure Group. Each of these divisions specializes in different technologies. The diverse concentration of the company resulted in different divisions and subsidiaries.
