Tomotaka Takahashi is the founder of ROBO-GARAGE, a company creating humanoid robots. Humanoid Robots are known for their smooth, fluid motions and sleek appearance. High school student Tomotaka Takahashi started creating his robot inspired by Astroboy, his childhood obsession. After completing a degree in Sociology, he decided to study robotics. His works are more likely into small robots because of its light weight and the people’s realistic anticipation. Takahashi strongly believed that people can relate to robots, because of their similar features to humans, and their openness to innovative opportunities for communication as well.
Tomotaka Takahashi developed Ropid in 2009, it is a type of robot that can jump three inches off the ground and can respond to voice commands such as: getting up, walking, running and jumping. Ropid’s name originated from the combination of robot and rapid.
