Tokyo plans to build the world's tallest tower (Sky Mile tower) that is even taller than the current world record holder - Dubai's Burj Khalifa and the ongoing construction of Jeddah Tower. The said mile-high structure stands up to 5, 577 ft and can accommodate up to 55, 000 people - according to a report form Architectural Digest.
The said building will be built in the southeast of Tokyo. A cluster of hexagonal islands will surround the structure with the purpose of protecting the Japanese capital from flooding. The island will also serve as foundational homes for people. There will be algae farms, wind farms and solar panels for energy supply.
The tower's facade will function as a water collector, filter and storage so that there isn't need to pump water from the ground to top floors. The Architectural Digest cited that the tower will feature multilevel sky lobbies and amenities such as health clinics, restaurants, libraries, shopping centers, libraries, and gyms. The tower is set for completion in 2045
