Robot cafes are now common in some countries such as Naulo Restaurant in Nepal but one company Ory Lab Inc aided a startup restaurant that has taken a concept of employing paralyzed people as waiters into a new level. The Dawn Ver Beta Cafe in Tokyo used Orly lab's robots remotely controlled by disabled people. The patients were suffering from diseases such as spinal cord injuries and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS. Kentaro Yoshifuji, Orly Lab Inc CEO, aims to help paralyzed people to work and gain some independence in their lives. The disabled operators were paid 1, 000 yen or $ 9 per hour. The cafe is still in beta or testing stage and they are still raising funds to open the cafe permanently in the year 2020.
