The technological innovation all started in a metal workshop in the year 1912.
Tokuji Hayakawa created a snap buckle in this metal workshop and even named it "Tokubijo." In 1915, he invented the Ever-Sharp mechanical pencil, and there started the company as a pencil business.
It seemed like God has a different plan for this company other than a school supply company. In 1923, the factory and its other facilities was destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake. It then transferred to Osaka prefecture and started making its first generation radios. After three years, the first models were sold. In 1953, they created their first TV sets. And the rest was history.
