Reinforced glass has become one of the best products made by Japan's the glass industry in the recent years. In fact, this product can be found in anyone's smartphones and tablets.
Nippon Glass factory in Shiba Prefecture created a film out of glass but as more thin (or ultra-thin) as a paper. It can absorb shock, be bent to some extent and it doesn't melt. The thickness -- or rather, thinness -- of the glass is 0.03 millimeters; that's less than half the thickness of a sheet of a copy paper.
Asahi Glass in Tokyo tested their own version of reinforced glass and was proven effective in their durability test.
However, asked how does a reinforced glass was made? The answer remains a trade secret.
