Some cemeteries around the world (such as this in New Zealand ) use QR codes to mark gravestones. Such QR codes will store data and upon scanning by a smartphone, the code will reveal a website and info about the deceased. The deceased info will reveal about the person's biography and how he/she lived when he/she still alive.
QR codes replace bar codes to store info as it can store data and make itself readable at any angle. The codes were invented in Japan
by the Japanese company Denso wave that is a subsidiary of Toyota Motors.
