When the world of technology switched to optical discs, so is Nintendo.
Introducing the GameCube, Nintendo's first game console using discs. Released in 2001, the device was designed for miniDVDs. At this early stage, the game console can already be used for online gaming, and can even be connected to the Game Boy Advance for a more exciting gameplay.
The game was said to have gathered a positive response from gamers, however, selling stopped in 2007, after the next Nintendo console, Wii, was launched in 2006.
This was where Pikmin and Animal Crossing debuted, as well as Super Smash Bros. Melee.
