Considered as Nintendo's first-ever game console, the Color TV-Game, or the Kara Terebi-Gemu in Japanese, was first released on June 1, 1977. The gadget spanned around 5 game console versions, all of which have been released only in Japan.
The first version was the Color TV-Gamer 6, a console played using separate controllers connected directly to the device. The next was the Color TV-Game 15 with controllers now connected with wire. Color TV-Game Racing 112 introduces a racing game, completed with a steering wheel and gearshift controller. The Color TV-Game Block Breaker offered a console version of an arcade game. Finally there was the Computer TV-Game, featuring a whole arcade-like controller.
