Who said that the ancient art of ceramics and the technological products of electronics can be combined in one company? According to Kyocera Corporation of Japan, this is extremely possible.
The company started out with the "kelcima," a kind of ceramic insulator used in the development of television picture tubes. Because of the success of the said product, the company continued making other ceramic products for the electronic industry. In the 1960s, in the advent of the computers, Kyocera produced ceramic semiconductors, which has been valuable until the present day.
In 1979, the company started venturing out to electronics-making themselves.
