Have you heard about the first robot in astronaut? That robotic astronaut was Kirobo. The miniature robot was developed and made by the carmaker Toyota and the robotocist Tomotaka Takahashi. The humanoid robot was modelled after the Japanese anime Astro boy. Kirobo was made to entertain and accompany the JAXA astronaut and engineer Koichi Wakata at the International Space Station.
Kirobo features:
* Recognizes human voice and face
* Dimensions: 3.9 inches tall and Palm sized.
* Can be charged for 3 hours
* A camera between the eyes to interpret a human facial expression
* Ability to connect to a car navigation system and warn the human occupants when the doors were left unlocked.
* Ability to speak 2, 500 vocabularies equivalent to that of a five-year-old child.
* Various and flexible movements such as one leg balance, ballet position and mimic other human movements.
* Smartphone connection
* Access your phone's GPS data and remember your places.
* Can be bought for $390 or 42,310 yen.
