A robot now serves coffee at a café in Shibuya. The ‘strange café’ was opened by the HIS travel agency. The robot is a machine with a single robotic arm and an avatar face.
The customers will first have to buy a ticket at the vending machine, with a choice between 7 items. The customer will then put the ticket over a reader for the robot to scan. The customers can now enjoy a freshly brewed coffee.
The Henna Café is a branch of the Henna Hotel, a hotel known for its robots.
