Gaming event organizer Samurai Game hosted the Japan Drone Championship, the first drone-only racing event in Japan.

It was held on January 25, 2015, at 3331 Art Chiyoda, a converted junior high school near Akhibara in Tokyo, Japan. Before the race, visitors were allowed to test the machines owned by the organizers, and most of them handled drones for the first time ever, since owning one is not common yet in Japan. Some race participants also had drone of their own, and they were smaller compared to the units provided by Samurai Game.
