When Japan opened its ports again to the outside world, the country started to be industrialized using its silk product as the most sought-after good during the time.
In Gunma Prefecture, the area where most of Japan’s revolution took place between the years 1872 and 1987, stood the Tomioka Silk Mill, and the Jobu Silk road was where the highest quality of silk was made.
As of today, the silk mill remains to be on the UNESCO World Heritage site list—remaining to be a reminder of how Japan started its technological revolution, a journey that brought the country to be one of the most advanced countries in the whole world.
