Hitachi, Ltd. from Japan surely knows the definition of variety, as it has dealt with industries ranging from telecommunication, electronics, automotive and even social infrastructure.
Starting out in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan in 1910, the company was established by Namihei Odaira. The company was said to be the producer of the very first 5-horsepower induction motor from Japan. The product targeted copper miners but later on delved in creating motors for the industry infrastructure sector.
The company's name is a combination of two Japanese kanji characters. The first character, hi, means "sun" and the second, tachi, means "rise." Truly, the company has created a name in the technological industry for the Land of the Rising Sun.
