The infinity symbol has been the trademark of the company since 1989. Fujitsu is said to believe in infinite possibilities in the world of technology, thus the use of the symbol.
The company started out with a business partnership in 1923. Furukaawa Electric Co., Ltd. and the Siemens AG, a German company, merged to created the Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. which aimed to create a name in the generators and electric motors industry in Japan.
The following year, the company ventured into telephone production, making use of the "step-by-step" automatic switching systems of its German counterpart. In 1931, the Japan's Ministry of Communications and Transportation started promoting their products. And the rest was history.
