Chindogu is a prank that refers to the ingenious making of daily gadgets to solve a certain problem but in fact defy concise explanation. The man behind Chindogu was Kenji Kawakami, a dropout of aeronautical engineering from Tokai University. They aren't completely useless themselves but are "un-useless as described by its maker Kenji Kawakami, a drop out of aeronautical engineering at Tokai University. Chindugos can be outrageous and funny. The word Chindougu 珍道具ちんどうぐ came from the word Chin 珍ちん meaning strange and curious and dougu 道具どうぐ for device or tool. The chindogu society laid its laws.
