Japan's love for sports has been overwhelming that they have even designated a special day for it.

Also known as Field Days, Sports Day is not just a thing for schools in Japan. Some offices and companies also conduct sports days wherein employees participate in physical competitions. In order to boost the players morale, schools and companies offer trophies or prizes for the winning teams or players. 

The date of the School Day varies across schools and offices in Japan but it is held mostly around the start of summer, when the heat is not yet that harsh. In Japanese schools, students are divided into "houses" which then competes each other for the championship.
