The 2020 Tokyo Olympics ( to be held on August 2020) will use 1, 300 tons of ice equivalent to 38 large trucks. The said hordes of ice will be used for ice baths and installed at 100 practice and event venues.  Other heat countermeasures include sweat pads, ice cream, instant coolants, ice cream, 20, 000 square meter tent coverage, and a drinking fountain for every 500 to 3, 000 people who are expected to attend. The Tokyo Olympics has set a budget of four billion yen or $36 million divided between Olympic and Tokyo organizers.
